2018 Municipal Election – School Board Trustees
The School Board Trustee representation determination process has been finalized for the School Board Districts.
Notice is hereby given by the Clerks of Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay that nominations may now be filed in the designated Clerks Office during normal office hours prior to Nomination Day (Friday, July 27, 2018) or on Nomination Day between 9:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The following denotes the School Board District representation schedule for Trustees, and the Municipal Clerk designated to receive Nomination papers for each.
English Language Public School Board:
For the area including Midland, Penetanguishene, Tiny and Tay, one Trustee is to be elected. Nomination papers are to be filed with the Clerk of the Town of Midland, 575 Dominion Ave., Midland.
French Language Public School Board:
For the area including County of Bruce, County of Grey, County of Simcoe and County of Dufferin, one Trustee is to be elected. Nomination papers are to be filed with the Clerk of the City of Barrie, 70 Collier St., Barrie.
English Language Separate School Board:
For the area including Tiny, Tay, Penetanguishene and Midland, one Trustee is to be elected. Nomination papers are to be filed with the Clerk of the Town of Midland, 575 Dominion Ave., Midland.
French Language Separate School Board:
For the area including the County of Simcoe and the District of Muskoka, one Trustee is to be elected. Nomination papers are to be filed with the Clerk of the City of Barrie, 70 Collier St., Barrie.
The Protestant Separate School Board of the Town of Penetanguishene:
For the area of the Town of Penetanguishene only, eight trustees are to be elected. Nomination papers are to be filed with the Clerk of the Town of Penetanguishene, 10 Robert Street West, Penetanguishene.
Nominations must be submitted to the respective municipal offices noted above on the prescribed form (available at any of the municipal offices), signed by the person being nominated and must be accompanied by the prescribed nomination filing fee of $100.00.
Information as to qualifications for candidates can be obtained at any of the municipal offices.
If you plan to seek office in the 2018 municipal elections for School Board Trustee, you must file a Nomination Paper with the designated Clerk before accepting contributions or spending money on your campaign.
