Corporation of the Township of Tay Privacy Policy

The Corporation of the Township of Tay respects the privacy of its web visitors. Our goal is to protect your information on the Internet in the same way we protect it in all the other ways we interact with you - in our service offices or at your home or business location; through mail correspondence; and, on the phone. Staff adheres to strict policies that protect the confidentiality of any personally identifiable information such as names, email addresses and telephone numbers.

  • Access to the Township of Tay's website, and use of many of its services features typically do not require providing any personal information whatsoever.
  • "Cookie" technology captures summary -- not individual -- information on visitor use patterns. This is computer code that tracks traffic so we can determine how effective a given page is in meeting informational or service needs. Apart from providing a performance measure for the Township's Internet site, the data is otherwise meaningless.

Video Surveillance Use - Notice of Collection, Use and Disclosure

Residents and visitors to the Township of Tay should note that the Township uses surveillance cameras to aid in protecting property, limiting liability, promoting public safety, ensuring the health and safety for our residents and visitors, and supporting law enforcement efforts in reducing and investigating offences.

Legal Authority for the collection of personal information is Section 11 of the Municipal Act, and in accordance with Section 29(1) (f) and (g) of the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.
