A Holiday Message from Mayor Ted Walker

On behalf of myself, council, and our dedicated township staff, I want to take this time to wish everyone happy holidays!

If the pandemic has taught us anything over the past two years, it’s the importance of keeping connected with those we love, so i hope you find the time this holiday season to connect with family, friends and loved ones.

During this holiday season, I offer my sincere appreciation and gratitude to the entire community for your continued collaboration, engagement and support. Our strong community spirit was out in full form at this year’s Waubaushene Santa Claus parade and Port McNicoll tree lighting ceremony. It was heart warming to see so many residents, community volunteers, council and staff join together once again. I hope that we will be able to join together at events like the Canada Day celebration in Victoria Harbour in the future.

We continue to support you, and operate the township in the most efficient and responsible way possible during these extraordinary times.

We understand the importance of outdoor activity not only on our physical health, but mental health too. So we’ve once again taken the extra steps and care necessary to open the Tay community rink. Check out free public skating and shinny times, or book your private rental online today, at Tay.ca/rinks.

As we move forward to new and exciting opportunities in 2022, staff and council remain committed to listening, learning, and improving in everything we do for the betterment of our beloved community.

Again, I extend my warmest wishes to everyone during this holiday season; while you connect with loved ones, at home and a far. Stay safe, follow public health guidelines, and celebrate the successes of the last year and those to come.
