County of Simcoe - Serve as a citizen appointee on a County of Simcoe committee or board

Midhurst/October 17, 2022 – The County of Simcoe is seeking residents who are willing to serve on a County committee or board as a citizen appointee.

Positions are available on the following:

  • Accessibility Advisory Committee: Provides input on accessibility plans for consideration by Council, advises on accessibility issues with municipal buildings and opportunities with respect to the identification and removal of barriers, and provides advice on ways to improve opportunities for persons with disabilities

  • Planning Advisory Committee: Provides unified comments to staff on County Official Plan and County-initiated Official Plan Amendments (OPA), and reviews land use policy changes as may be introduced by the Province of Ontario

  • Lake Simcoe Regional Airport Board: A Municipal Service Corporation that manages the strategic and day-to-day requirements of the LSRA

All appointments are a 4-year term commencing in 2023. Meetings are generally held during regular business hours. Meetings are likely to be held in person but may be held virtually. Citizen appointees will be compensated in accordance with approved County policy.

All applicants must reside within the County of Simcoe. For applicants interested in the Accessibility Advisory Committee, preference will be given to people with firsthand experience of accessibility challenges. Additionally, preference will be given to residents of the municipalities that are jointly served by the Accessibility Advisory Committee, which include Springwater, Tay, Oro-Medonte, and Adjala-Tosorontio.

All interested applicants should submit a resume and cover letter outlining their experience and preferred committee or board, as well as their relevant qualifications to the County Clerk before 5 p.m. Wednesday, November 9, 2022.
