Horticulture Committee's Indigenous Garden Opening June 24, 2024 at 10am

The Tay Township Horticulture Committee is proud to announce the unveiling of its new Indigenous Garden at the Municipal Office, located at 450 Park Street in Victoria Harbour on Monday, June 24th at 10:00 a.m., inviting the community to witness and celebrate this important addition.

The Indigenous Garden reflects a deep commitment to honouring and preserving the cultural heritage of the region. Recently installed features include a symbolic lighthouse, as well as a wood feature paying tribute to the Township's historic ties to the lumber industry. These elements will be complemented by new plantings of birch, cedar, sweetgrass, sage, and tobacco, symbolizing a profound connection to the Indigenous lands upon which our community thrives.
