Planned Power Outage in Port McNicoll, September 13 - 14, 2026

NT Power will be completing a planned power outage affecting most of Port McNicoll beginning Sunday, September 13 at 7:00 p.m. and continuing until approximately Monday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m.

The outage is required as part of the replacement and upgrade of the Port McNicoll Distribution Station, which has served the community since 1969 and is nearing the end of its service life.

During the outage, NT Power will connect a temporary mobile substation and complete other required work to support the station rebuild. Once connected, the temporary equipment will allow NT Power to continue supplying electricity to Port McNicoll while the existing station is reconstructed over the coming months.

Affected customers should prepare to be without power for the full planned outage window. NT Power will restore power as soon as the work can be safely completed and will provide updates if the expected restoration time changes.

Customers whose properties are affected by the planned outage will also be contacted directly by NT Power in advance.
