Reminder: County seeking public input on Transit Review with virtual open house
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Midhurst/July 21, 2025 – The County of Simcoe is reminding residents, businesses, stakeholders, and partners that input is still being accepted for the County-wide Transit review, and the deadline to submit feedback is Friday, July 25, 2025.
Launched in June 2025, and endorsed by County Council, the Transit Review aims to explore opportunities to improve access to public transit across Simcoe County, identify potential service integration, and better understand the needs and priorities of the region moving forward.
Phase one of the process has included extensive consultation with the public, stakeholders, and partners. Three public open houses were hosted across the County in June, a workshop took place at County Council on June 17, and a virtual open house presentation remains available for members of the public unable to attend in-person.
Public survey:
Available June 11 to July 25 at www.simcoe.ca/transitreview.

About Public Transit in Simcoe County:
Currently, only some of the County’s 16 member municipalities, along with the cities of Barrie and Orillia, operate local municipal transit services. Several other local municipalities do not have local transit systems. The County also operates LINX Transit, an inter-community service with six routes that connect local communities and major service and employment hubs, including hospitals, educational institutions, GO Transit, Ontario Northland, and employment centres. LINX currently serves seven of the 16 County municipalities, as well as Barrie and Orillia.
