Reminder: Watermain Flushing begins in Waubaushene and Rope area October 12
The Township of Tay conducts its watermain flushing program on an annual basis as part of its regular watermain and hydrant maintenance program.
Flushing Schedule: Monday to Friday only between 8:00 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
- Victoria Harbour – began September 20 for approximately 3 weeks
- Port McNicoll and area – began October 4 for approximately 3 weeks
- Waubaushene and Rope – beginning October 12 for approximately 3 weeks
As a result of this work, you may experience a change in pressure and/or some discolouration or sediment in the water.
Water use during the scheduled flushing periods should be kept to a minimum to avoid discolouration from entering your home or business. During these times, it is advisable to check the water prior to doing laundry.
Should you experience discoloured water, following a flushing event, run your cold water for 10-15 minutes to clear the service line. If the water does not clear after this time, turn off the tap and wait 30 minutes and repeat the process.
