Tay Township celebrates completion of MacKenzie Park Improvements

Tay, Ontario – On Friday June 9, Tay Township held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of improvements made at MacKenzie Park in Victoria Harbour.

“Today we gather to celebrate the incredible improvements that have transformed this park into a truly inclusive and accessible space for our community” said Mayor Ted Walker.

Improvements include significant enhancements to the playground equipment, which incorporate accessible features allowing children of all abilities to play and learn together. The space now includes a modern accessible washroom facility and walkway connected to the pavilion, ensuring a seamless experience for everyone.

Mayor Walker also gave special thanks to Georgian Paving for providing the new parking lot and the Tay Township Seniors Committee for providing an accessible picnic table. Mayor Walker also praised the MacKenzie Park Improvements Committee through whose tireless efforts, raised approximately $25,000 at their successful 2018 golf tournament.

MacKenzie Park is a testament to the spirit of collaboration and community that has fueled this project from its inception. It will be a symbol of Tay Township’s commitment to creating accessible spaces for all.

MacKenzie Park is located at 6 Bergie Crescent in Victoria Harbour.
