Tay Township Celebrates Local Government Week

Tay, Ontario: Tay Township is proud to join municipalities across Ontario in celebrating Local Government Week from October 21 to 25, 2024.

Local Government Week is a chance for residents of all ages to enhance their civic knowledge and understand the crucial role municipal government plays in daily life. This initiative was established by the Province of Ontario, the Association of Municipal Managers, Clerks, and Treasurers of Ontario, and the Association of Municipalities of Ontario.

To launch the week, Grade 5 students from St. Antoine Daniel Catholic School visited the Municipal Office, where they engaged with the Mayor, Council, and staff. They learned about the importance of collaboration in delivering the services, programs, and facilities that contribute to the vibrancy of Tay Township.

On behalf of the Mayor, Council, and staff, we extend our gratitude to Ms. Bazinet’s Grade 5 class for recognizing the vital role local governments play in shaping the character, priorities, amenities, and infrastructure of Ontario’s diverse communities.
