COVID-19 Impacts to Services and Information Update

Tay, Ontario: With key public health and health system indicators continuing to improve, the Province in consultation the Chief Medical Officer of Health, is cautiously and gradually easing public health and workplace safety measures, as of March 1, 2022. As a result, Tay Township has updated the following measures to reflect these changes:

  • The Municipal Office is open to the public weekdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Public health and workplace safety measures continue to apply to anyone entering the Municipal Office, including maintaining physical distancing and wearing a face covering. In addition, the Township requires members of the Public meeting with or interacting with staff in prolonged "sit-down" situations to be fully vaccinated and show proof of vaccination, or provide proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from a test taken within the last 72 hours.   • Members of the Public continue to be encouraged to obtain services over the phone, by email, or via the MyTay.ca portal.
    • Tax and water bill payments can be made through your bank either online or at a bank branch.
  • The Tay Community Rink will no longer require proof of vaccination. Masks or face coverings should continue to be worn by everyone not in the same household, entering the facility and may only be removed by participants for on-ice activities when 2 metres of physical distancing is maintained.
    • Please note that the rink will close for the season on March 20, 2022. Visit tay.ca/rinks for more information. 
  • Tay Township Recreation: Online registration for the programs below opens May 5, 2022 at tay.ca/register or in person at the Municipal Office during regular business hours.
    • Summer Day Camp programs are planned to be offered at the Oakwood Community Centre and Port McNicoll Community Centre during the week of July 4 through to August 22 2022 for youth ages 5 to 12.
    • Spring/Summer Active Living Programs are planned to take place during May, June, July and August 2022. The list and variety of programs is still being finalized and will be posted closer to the registration date.
    • TOTS Summer Soccer: planned to run the week of July 4 through the week of August 22. 
  • Community Centres will once again be available for rent starting March, 7 2022. Please contact our recreation team at 705-534-7248 ext. 232 or email recreation@tay.ca for more information. 
  • The Tay Township Public Library is OPEN! Curbside service is available upon request. For full details visit tay.ca/library 
  • Council and Committee Meetings will continue to be held remotely by video and telephone conference. Visit tay.ca/calendar for information on meeting dates, times and on how to participate.
