Tay Township Firefighters Going Door-to-Door to Promote Home Safety Monday May 25, 2026

On Monday May 25, 2026, from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., members of Tay Township Fire and Emergency Services will be canvassing the community door-to-door to share important information about smoke alarm and carbon monoxide (CO) safety.

Firefighters from each Hall will be targeting the following areas:

  • Waubaushene: Ouida and Palmer Streets
  • Victoria Harbour: Georgias Walk and Sheppard/Hunter/Evans area
  • Rural Tay: Portions of Candlelight Village & Bramhall Park
  • Port McNicoll: 7th Ave

Firefighters will be in uniform and will be delivering educational materials, answering questions and helping residents better understand how to keep their homes and families safe. If residents in these areas are unavailable our firefighters will leave behind informational brochures.

This friendly, educational initiative is part of a broader effort to connect with residents directly, share life-saving information and help ensure every household understands their responsibilities under Ontario’s Fire Code.

If you're not home during the visit and would like to speak or have the Fire Department return at a time that works for you, please contact:

This program will rotate to other areas of the Township each year. Our Fire Department is always available to help you with your smoke and CO alarms. The goal is to ensure that working smoke and carbon monoxide alarms are in every home in Tay Township.
