Tay Township launches 2026 Municipal Election Candidate Portal
Tay Township has officially launched the 2026 Municipal Election Candidate Portal to support individuals interested in running for Council in the upcoming 2026 Municipal Election.
Those considering candidacy are encouraged to visit the Candidate Portal often to stay informed throughout the election period.
The Candidate Portal is designed to provide candidates with convenient access to key information, important dates, By-laws, policies, and reference materials. The Candidate Portal will be updated regularly as new resources become available.
Nominations will be accepted beginning Friday, May 1, 2026, at 8:30 a.m. and close on Nomination Day, Friday, August 21, 2026, at 2:00 p.m.
To file a nomination, candidates will be required to pick up a Candidate Package in person at the Municipal Office, located at 450 Park Street in Victoria Harbour during regular business hours 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Key dates for the 2026 Municipal Election include:
- Nomination Period: May 1 to August 21, 2026
- Third Party Registration: May 1 to October 23, 2026
- Election Day: Monday, October 26, 2026
