Tay Township Public Library Board Promotes Interim Acting Library CEO Heather Delong to Head Librarian
Tay, Ontario: The Tay Township Public Library Board is pleased to announce that Heather Delong has been promoted to Head Librarian effective May 30, 2022. Ms. Delong has been with the Library since 2003, holding the title of Branch Librarian for Port McNicoll since 2007, and was appointed Interim Acting Library CEO in November of 2020.
Tay Library Board Chair Heather Walker expressed “we are excited about the promotion and appointment of Ms. Delong, her qualifications and commitment to Library services has been felt throughout all of Tay Township for the past 18 years, we look forward to her continued leadership in the role of Head Librarian”
Ms. Delong has built her career on taking on new challenges with an ongoing commitment to continuing education and professional development, most recently completing courses from Library 2.0 covering the topics of “Libraries as Community Anchors” and “Innovation in Small, Rural and Independent Libraries.”
Ms. Delong is looking forward to leading the Tay Township Public Library team in the delivery of customer service focused library services in a manner that is sustaining, best-in-class, compliant, and ensures that the needs of the Township’s Community Members, Staff, Library Board and Council are met.
