Update: Temporary Water Service Disruptions Expanded on Hayes Street Port McNicoll

Date: July 29, 2025 

Time: 3:00 p.m. 

Due to the ongoing Hayes Street Sanitary and Watermain Replacement work, temporary watermain service disruptions have expanded on Hayes Street and now include residents between Seventh Avenue and Fifth Avenue, as well as residents between Wardell Street and Hayes Street. 

This disruption is related to the watermain tie-ins at the intersections of Fifth Avenue and Fourth Avenue

Time: 8:50 a.m.

As part of the ongoing Hayes Street Sanitary and Watermain Replacement Project, residents are advised that temporary water service disruptions may occur beginning today Monday, July 28 through to Wednesday, July 30, 2025, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. daily. 

These potential interruptions are necessary as crews work to complete watermain tie-ins at the intersections of Fifth Avenue and Fourth Avenue. 

Affected Area: 

  • Hayes Street, from Fifth Avenue to Fourth Avenue 

What to Expect: 

  • Temporary water service outages during working hours 
  • Possible noise, dust, and minor traffic delays 

Reminder: This section of Hayes Street remains closed to through traffic until the full scope of the sanitary and watermain replacement is completed. The project includes the installation of new underground services, road base reconstruction, and final asphalt paving.
