2022-2026 Committee & Board Member Recruitment

Tay, Ontario: Tay Township is seeking residents who are willing to serve on a Township Committee or Board as a citizen appointee. Positions are available on the following Committees and Board for the 2022-2026 Term of Council:
Audit Committee (3 members): Responsible for overseeing all material aspects of the Corporation’s financial reporting, control and audit functions.
Committee of Adjustment (4 members): A statutory tribunal with authority delegated to it by Council, under the provisions of the Ontario Planning Act, to hold public hearings to make decisions on applications submitted to the Township’s Planning and Development Division.
Community Policing Committee (4 members): Will support and facilitate interaction between the community and the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
Heritage Committee (6 members): Responsible for advising and assisting Council to ensure that appropriate heritage conservation practices are followed in accordance with the Heritage Act.
Horticulture Committee (6 members): Role is to foster civic pride, environmental responsibility and beautification through community participation in horticulture.
Joint Accessibility Advisory Committee (1 member): With the County of Simcoe and area municipalities, the Committee shall advise and assist the Township in promoting and facilitating a barrier-free Tay, and area, for citizens of all abilities (universal accessibility), including persons with disabilities. A majority of the members of the Committee will be persons with disabilities.
Library Board (3 members): Responsible for the operation of the Tay Township Public Library which includes the Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour, and Waubaushene branches.
Recreation Committees (4 members per Committee): Four Recreation Committees covering the areas of Port McNicoll, Waverley, Victoria Harbour and Waubaushene with the purpose to encourage and support community engagement in recreational activities and events throughout the Township.
Seniors Advisory Committee (6 members): Liaison to enrich and enhance the lives of seniors in the Township, by identifying barriers, forming partnerships with the community and acting as a public forum for issues affecting seniors.
