Moving to Tay

Whether you are starting or relocating a business, moving your family or retiring to this magnificent area, we know you'll be happy with your decision

Tay Township is located in north Simcoe County on the shores of Severn Sound (Georgian Bay) and is a rural and small urban municipality with a permanent population of 10,000. In addition to a large rural community, Tay is composed of the villages of Port McNicoll, Victoria Harbour, Waubaushene and Waverley.

The area offers an array of community groups and clubs, passive and active sporting activities, arts and culture, both rural and urban settings and much more to keep anyone as active as they wish. Its picturesque setting is strategically located only 90 minutes north of Toronto.

The nature of Tay creates endless business opportunities in the field of tourism. Tay is directly positioned on Georgian Bay and has approximately 43 km of shoreline both under public and private ownership. Other business opportunities in the agricultural field are endless as Tay's rural community boosts over 4,000 hectares of some of the best farmland and has over 40 different farming operations.

Opportunities for small businesses are also endless within our distinct and unique blend of separate communities where everyone knows everyone and community support is in abundance.

We will continue to develop areas like the cottage industry, four-season tourism, small businesses and high technology for Tay to retain its competitive position in the area.

Tay will actively assist the existing businesses to grow and succeed as well as to attract, encourage and assist new businesses to locate in Tay Township.
