Water Plans and Reports

Annual Drinking Water Report

Ontario's Drinking Water Systems regulation (0.Reg.170/03), made under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002, requires that the owner of a municipal drinking water system prepare an annual report on the operation of the system and the quality of its water. The annual report replaces the quarterly reports as directed in the previous regulation.

Water Quality Reports are required to be submitted to the Ministry of Environment no later than February 28 of the following calendar year.

Reports are available free of charge at the Municipal Office (450 Park Street, Victoria Harbour).

The Township of Tay currently has a Quality Management System (QMS) Operational Plan in place, which defines and documents the quality management policies and procedures specific to the municipality's drinking water system.

The QMS Operational Plan identifies product standards and services to our suppliers which affect the delivery of safe drinking water.

Communications with staff and our customers has improved as a direct reflection of the QMS Operational Plan and our commitment to continual improvement.

Under the Safe Drinking Water Act, 2002 Ontario Regulation 453/07, municipalities that own and maintain a drinking water system are required to prepare a Financial Plan.

The plan is intended to make drinking water systems financially sustainable. The Act states that any municipality providing water to the public will implement full cost accounting and recovery (user pay system).

Financial Plan 129-301A for the Tay Area Drinking Water System and the Rope Water System was approved by Council resolution on December 16, 2020.

The report was submitted to the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing for their review.

The Financial Plan is available for download here or at the Municipal Office 450 Park Street, Victoria Harbour, ON L0K 2A0
