Applications for Committee of Adjustment

The Township of Tay is seeking members for its Committee of Adjustment.

The Committee of Adjustment is a volunteer committee appointed by Council to consider and make decisions on applications for minor variances and consent to sever. The Committee is also appointed as the Property Standards Committee and Fence viewers Committee which are called on an as needed basis.

The Committee of Adjustment is guided by planning policies and controls established by Township of Tay Council through the Official Plan, Zoning By-law and other by-laws for controlling development, and the planning policies of the County of Simcoe and the Province of Ontario, including the Planning Act, statements of Provincial interest as defined in policy statements, implementation guidelines and Provincial plans, such as the Places to Grow Growth Plan.

If you are interested in serving on the Committee of Adjustment, please complete and submit the required application (available on the Township’s website at www.tay.ca/jobs) either in person, by mail or email to the attention of the undersigned by 4:00 p.m., Friday, March 11, 2022.

All individuals selected for appointment will be required to sign the Township’s Code of Conduct for Citizen Appointees to Boards & Committees prior to formal appointment. The term of appointment will run from their date of appointment through to November 14, 2022.
