BOIL WATER ADVISORY LIFTED

For properties connected to the Rope Area Drinking Water System, in the Rope Subdivision. 

Please note that the boil water advisory issued on October 29 at 1:55 p.m. has been lifted for the 40 properties in the Rope Area Drinking Water System, in the Rope Subdivision.

Water sampling results from the laboratory indicate that there are no concerns with the water supply. In consultation with Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit, this notice is to advise you that the boil water advisory has been lifted.

Time: 5:45 a.m.

Water pressure was restored to the Rope Subdivision water distribution system at approximately 2:00 a.m. this morning.  A precautionary boil water advisory for 40 properties remains in effect as a result of the loss of system pressure.  Affected water users have been advised by hand delivered notices.  The advisory will remain in effect until water sample laboratory results indicate that there are no further concerns. When the advisory has been lifted, residents will be notified by hand-delivered notices.

Work on the Rope Subdivision water distribution system continues to restore water pressure. No estimated time to repair is currently available.

Time: 4:45 p.m.

Loss of water pressure in the Rope Subdivision Drinking Water System continues as a result of a pump equipment failure. A pump service provider is in transit to assist with repairs. It is hoped that water pressure will be restored by 9:00 p.m.

We appreciate your understanding while we work continuously to restore service.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY 

Properties connected to the Rope Area Drinking Water System, in the Rope Subdivision.

Area Affected: 40 properties in the Rope Subdivision

Tay Townshipin consultation with the Simcoe Muskoka District Health Unit (SMDHU), has issued a boil water advisory as a precaution due to a loss of water pressure and pump failure, that occurred while seasonal flushing of the Rope water distribution system was being conducted. It is expected that water pressure will be restored before 5:00 p.m. today.

This is a precautionary measure to ensure public safety. Notices have been hand delivered to all affected properties.

The advisory will remain in effect until water sample laboratory results indicate that there are no further concerns. When the advisory has been lifted, residents will be notified by hand-delivered notices.

What to do:

Tay Township advises that all water used for consumption be heated to a rolling boil foat least 1 minute prior to use (store in a clean covered container). Unless it has been boiled first or is commercially bottled, water should not be used for drinking, baby formula, juice, ice, washing fruit and vegetables or brushing your teeth. Please note: Home filtration devices are not a substitute for boiling water.
