COVID-19 Impacts to Services Information Update

Tay, Ontario – In support of Provincial efforts and measures to help stop the spread of COVID-19 and in response to the Provincial Stay-at-Home order the following measures have been taken to protect the health and well-being of our community members, including residents and our dedicated staff, with the goal of keeping time-sensitive operations running and available to the public:

  • The Boat Launch at 91 Albert Street will be closed to the Public as of Monday May 17, 2021 until further notice.
  • The Municipal Office at 450 Park Street remains closed to the public, however staff are happy to assist by email or over the phone at 705-534-7248 or at tay.ca/contact.
  • You can also visit the Online Service Request Portal at MyTay.ca and access account information, report a problem or request assistance with any municipal service.
  • It is not necessary to come to the municipal office to pay any bills in person at this time.  Tax and water bill payments can be made through your bank either online or at a bank branch.  Payments can be made in the drop box located outside the municipal office.
  • Late payment fees and interest on all bills issued after January 1, 2021 will be waived for all current water/wastewater and tax accounts, while our Municipal Office is closed to the public.
  • 2021 Fire Permits can be purchased online at tay.ca/FirePermits
  • Dog Tags will not be sold at this time.  Please call the Canine Enforcement Officer at 705-534-7248 x248 to register your dog and intent to purchase a Dog Tag once the stay at home order has been lifted. The two dog per household limit remains in effect.
  • Building Permit applications will still be accepted at this time.  Please call the building division at 705-534-7248 x220 for advice on your particular situation.
  • Building Permit inspections are still being conducted.  Please contact the building division at 705-534-7248 x220 BEFORE PROCEEDING with work to learn about your options.
  • Active living recreation programs are currently on hold.
  • The Tay Township Public Library is offering curbside services.  For full details visit tay.ca/library
  • Council and Committee Meetings will continue to be held remotely by video and telephone conference.  Visit tay.ca/calendar for information on meeting dates, times and on how to participate.
