Mayor's Update: June 2021

Welcome Summer! It’s been a busy June for Tay Township and our local health unit continues to lead the way with COVID-19 vaccination role out, including a ramp up of second doses.  Appointments can be booked through the Provincial Booking System online at Ontario.ca/COVID19 or by calling 1-888-999-6488. For information on local vaccination clinics visit simcoemuskokahealth.org.

Our Municipal Office is back open to the public Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m to 4:30 p.m.  Please note that for the safety of all, public health and workplace safety measures will continue to apply to anyone entering the Office, including maintaining physical distancing and wearing a face covering.   Members of the public are asked to obtain services over the phone at 705-534-7248 or online whenever possible at MyTay.ca.

Tay Township is once again happy to offer modified Summer Day Camp programs.  This year, two camp locations, will run simultaneously for 8 weeks from July 5 to August 27. There is still space available for the Port McNicoll camp, with fun themed weeks as well as before and after care.  For more details and to sign up visit tay.ca/register.

Lastly, as we continue to ramp up our communication efforts, and in response to resident requests for improved communication from the Township, I encourage all residents to check their mail box for the first edition of the Tay Township Annual Report.  The 32 page booklet highlights just a few of the Township’s accomplishments in 2020 and what residents can look forward to in 2021, as well as detailed information on the financial health of the municipality.  I encourage you to take some time to review the information and if you have any comments about the report, or any other Township topic please give us a call or email us at TellUs@tay.ca.  We are here to help, and always happy to do so.

Until next time, stay safe, stay healthy.
