NOTICE OF COUNCIL INTENT TO CONSIDER A MINISTER'S ZONING ORDER

3100 TRIPLE BAY ROAD

The Council of the Corporation of the Township of Tay will consider a request for support of a Ministers Zoning Order (MZO) at Council’s regularly scheduled meeting of Council commencing at 7:00 pm on August 26th, 2020. The meeting will be held via Zoom video and telephone conference at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85172034877. The proponent will be making a presentation at the August 12th, 2020 Committee of all Council meeting that commences at 1:00 pm via Zoom video and telephone conference. Section 47 of the Planning Act gives the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing the same authority as municipal councils to make decisions on certain land use planning matters. There is no statutory requirement under the Planning Act to hold a public meeting for these types of requests.

The founders of Apple Blossom Village wish to construct a new maximum 3,065 m2 (33,000 ft2) “Residential Care Facility” that includes approximately 24 rooms. These rooms will contain a washroom but no kitchen facility. The residents will share a common kitchen. This facility will be augmented with 10 separate individual “cabins” each with a footprint of about 65 m2 (700 ft2) in size that will contain washroom and cooking facilities. In addition, it is also planned to construct an approximately 929m(10,000 ft2) ancillary building for offices and recreational amenities. These facilities will provide assisted living to accommodate children and adults with autism.
