NOTICE OF A PUBLIC MEETING 

For Proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law (Temporary Use By-law)

Take Notice that the Council for The Corporation of the Township of Tay will be holding a Public Meeting electronically on May 27, 2020 at 6:30 PM to consider an amendment to the Township’s Zoning By-law 2000-57, as amended pursuant to Sections 34 and 39 of the Planning Act. The Council Meeting will be streamed live via Zoom meetings at www.tay.ca/MeetingsPlease note that there may be more than one public meeting and that the matter will be dealt with in the order it appears on the agenda.

The Purpose and Effect of the Temporary Use By-law:

The application proposes to continue the use of an existing mobile home  (garden suite) being 85 square metres (915 square feet) in floor area for the purpose of a temporary period of time, up to twenty years (Section 39 of the Planning Act).

Information Available: Pursuant to Sections 22 (6.4) and 34 (10.7) of the Planning Act, the Application file is part of the public record and is available to the public for inspection.  An electronic copy of the application is available under “Packages” on the meeting calendar entry for the public meeting at tay.ca/Calendar.  Any person wishing further information or clarification with regard to the applications can contact Aleah Clarke, Planner via email at aclarke@tay.ca or by telephone at 705-534-7248 Extension 238. 

Take Notice that any person may make a submission in support of or in opposition to the proposed Amendment Zoning By-law amendment. Written submissions regarding the proposal can be sent to the Township Acting Clerk at cbonneville@tay.ca, or by mail at Township of Tay 450 Park Street, PO Box 100 Victoria Harbour, ON L0K 2A0, facsimile 705-534-4493. The Acting Clerk will read the comments received at the received public meeting so that they are entered into the record. If you are unable to make written submissions and therefore wish to make an oral statement during the meeting please email the Township Acting Clerk at cbonneville@tay.ca prior to noon on May 21, 2020 to register. You will be provided further instructions on how you will connect during the virtual meeting.

If you wish to be notified of Council’s decision regarding the proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law, you must submit a written request to Aleah Clarke at the address shown in the paragraph above.

If a person or public body does not make oral submissions at the public meeting or make written submissions to the Township of Tay before the proposed Amendment to the Zoning By-law is passed, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision of the Council of the Township of Tay to the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal and the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Local Planning Appeal Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to do so.
