Tay Canada Day Committee Cheque Presentation - September 14, 2023

On September 14, the Tay Canada Day Committee along with Mayor Walker gathered in the Council Chambers where the Committee presented cheques from the funds raised at their 2023 Canada Day in Tay event. 

The first cheque was presented to Christina Wood and Sharelle McArthur of the Southern Georgian Bay Airboat Rescue initiative in the amount of $10,000 to go towards the purchase of an airboat. 

Mary Warnock was presented with a $3,000 cheque for the Victoria Harbour St Vincent de Paul Food Bank.

A final cheque was presented in the amount of $1,000 to Jesse Dees and Lisa Wanamaker of GBGH Foundation to go towards the purchase of an MRI machine. 

The Tay Canada Day Committee was very pleased to be able to raise and donate these funds and will be back at it again next year in the newly upgraded rink at the Oakwood Community Centre in Victoria Harbour.
