Library Review Ad Hoc Committee

As a Committee of Council, the role of the Library Review Ad Hoc Committee is to review the various options available with respect to the future of the three-branch library system and bring forward a recommendation to Council.

The mandate and responsibilities of the Committee are to review and analyze the Library Overview Report (April 16, 2024) and gather additional information that may be required while considering the following:

• Review and analyze the building condition reports related to the three
  existing branch locations while considering future budget impact and
  potential future needs;
• Review and analyze the statistical data related to visits, circulation,
  programs, and library structure comparison while considering potential
  future needs;
• Review and analyze the current non-literacy-based programming provided
  by the Library while considering potential future needs in addition to where
  the related programming is best provided ie: library or recreation;
• Review and analyze the current community spaces available within Victoria
  Harbour, Waubaushene and Port McNicoll (current branch locations) along
  with the required future needs;) Engage Township residents to receive input on the services and/or
  programming they utilize at their library, frequency of visits, main library
  branch and other related questions as determined by the Committee.
• Provide a Report with a recommendation to Council regarding the future of
  the current three-branch library system.
